Don’t Lose Your Purpose!
Thursday’s Daily Bible Verse: “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.” (Jesus, Luke 14:34, 35, NIV)

PURPOSE is defined as following:
“The object toward which one strives or for which something exists; an aim or a goal”
Salt has a PURPOSE in life. And that purpose is to season foods and make them taste good… as well as to preserve food. In fact, when you look at everything else in this universe that God created — it ALL has some kind of purpose (or master plan) to it existing.
You also have a purpose my friend. You are not here by accident or mistake… God knew the very day and the hour that you would come into an existence… and you have an ULTIMATE purpose in this life, and before you breathe your last breath… you should make it your goal to (1) Find Your Purpose… and (2) Fulfill Your Purpose.
If you lose your PURPOSE in life… or WORSE, never find the purpose of your life… then life can become utterly meaningless. You owe it to yourself, to others, to this world, and to the future generations of your family to FIND and FULFILL your purpose in life.
“How do I find my purpose in life?” you may ask. Great question! There are many methods to find it — but I believe at the top of the list is the following:
What causes are out there that grieve your heart… that you feel like you can make a difference in?
EXAMPLES – Does it absolutely crush you when you hear of a baby being aborted? Do you absolutely hate seeing the homeless rate in your city or town go up? Do you have a heart towards inner-city youth?
Do you have anymore methods of finding PURPOSE… or have any questions, comments on this post? Then please feel free to leave them below.

After working for over a year in a job that feels largely meaningless to me, this devotion makes sense to me. It is a struggle to regain a sense of purpose. There are certain sights in this world, homeless people begging in the streets, gangster rap filling the ears of kids, or violence and oppression abroad, that make me ask myself “Where is the justice?” Then of course, I realize justice is not some kind of external force that just arrives in any situation. Justice is a creation and an act done by those who believe in justice. As one who believes in justice, I would like to find my way back to helping create it, along with mercy and love, in the world around me.
